The India Meteorological Department has issued rain alerts for 16 states as the monsoon advances into Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and other parts of northern India, with Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Uttarakhand among the states flagged. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are expected to see heavy rainfall through July 5.
Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and steer clear of waterlogged areas as the rains intensify across the region over the coming days.
